A third season of Cruel Summer is in the works, almost two years after it was announced that Freeform had canceled the anthology series.

Season one of the show was a big hit for the network, breaking viewing records at the time, but the second season featured a new cast and storyline, which didn’t seem to resonate with audiences.

Olivia Holt starred in the first season and it’s being reported that she’ll return for the third one! The show is back in development at Hulu and Freeform.

Variety reports that not only will Olivia star in the new installment, but she’s going to executive produce it as well. Not much is known about the plot, but it’s being said that she’ll reprise the role of Kate Wallis.
