CASS COUNTY, Mich. (WNDU) - A 73-year-old Cassopolis man is dead after police say a farm tractor was hit by a pickup truck in Cass County.

It happened on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. on Calvin Center Road near Calvin Hill Street.

According to Michigan State Police, the pickup truck hit the back of the tractor as both vehicles were heading south on Calvin Center Road.

The tractor driver, a 73-year-old Cassopolis man, died at the scene. Police have not released his identity.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old Marcellus man, and his passengers reportedly suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation, but police believe distracted driving may have played a role in it.
