A comprehensive new survey of how thousands of parents feel about Broward County Public Schools has produced some very useful information.

But the larger question is what the School Board and the district administration will now do with all this data.

Are they listening — really listening — to what Broward parents are saying?

To start with, some of the survey results are positive, but the district must not rest on its laurels.

Broward is an A-rated school district for the second year in a row, yet it continues to lose students at an alarming rate — an ominous sign.

More and more parents are voting with their feet and moving their children into private schools, charter schools or home schooling arrangements while still others are moving away for reasons that may have nothing to do
