A Mission nonprofit championing artists with disabilities will co-host an art fair in San Francisco featuring the works of creators from across the country early next year, thanks to a six-figure grant it received last week.

Creativity Explored and Open Invitational will take over a former SoMa office space — the exact location is yet to be announced — for a free, four-day fair known as “Creativity Explored x Open Invitational.” It will begin Jan. 22 during San Francisco Art Week . Open Invitational hosted a similar event during Art Basel Miami Beach last year, and is set to hold another in New York next month.

“This type of work has so much power to elevate marginalized voices, both in terms of ability but also region,” said David Fierman, who co-founded Open Invitational last year
