7th Circuit Blocks 'Buffer Law,' Universal Injunction Question Remains Pending

The Seventh Circuit also remanded the case to the district court to determine the scope of the injunction following the U.S. Supreme Court's recent ruling in Trump v. CASA Inc., which put limits on universal injunctions. In the present case, which may be among the first cases analyzed since the Supreme Court's ruling, the Seventh Circuit said Sweeney will have to determine if the injunction applies only to the media organizations named as plaintiffs or to all Indiana residents.
