CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A Mount Vernon man has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for drug and firearm charges.
Brice Aron Horton, 49, pleaded guilty on March 10 to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. He was stopped by Mt. Vernon-Lisbon Police on May 26, 2024, with 814.9 grams of ice methamphetamine and a loaded pistol in his vehicle.
As a convicted felon, Horton was prohibited from possessing firearms. Horton admitted to distributing at least 13 pounds of ice methamphetamine and 100 fentanyl pills between May 2023 and May 2024 in the Northern District of Iowa.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams sentenced Horton to 147 months in prison, followed by a five-year supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
