According to OpenAI , the company officially launched GPT-5 on Thursday, calling it a major upgrade to the AI model powering ChatGPT . The company says GPT-5 is faster, more accurate, and better at tasks like writing, coding, and answering health questions.

The new model, available now to both free and paid users, aims to reduce false or misleading responses and better handle questions it can’t answer.

CEO Sam Altman called GPT-5 a “significant step” toward artificial general intelligence —AI that could one day match human-level thinking, a CNN report reveals.
