FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas has transferred Luciano “Lucho” Acosta to Fluminense FC of Brazil’s Série A after signing him in the offseason.

The former MLS MVP and three-time MLS All-Star joined FC Dallas from FC Cincinnati in February before the 2025 season began. At the time of Acosta's arrival, he was the largest cash-for-player trade in Major League Soccer history.

Acosta had noticeably been missing from the starting lineup in recent matches for FC Dallas before the move.

The club did not disclose the terms of the deal, per team policy, but MLS insider Tom Bogert reports that FC Dallas received $4 million plus add-ons in the deal.
