COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Maury County on Thursday night.

The THP reported that the incident occurred in the area of 1190 Highway 7 around 8:20 p.m.

The Maury County Fire Department responded to the scene just north of Industrial Park Road.

A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian and did not remain at the scene, according to THP.

Drivers were diverted onto Theta Pike, Old TVA Road, and Darks Mill Road to get around the crash scene until the roadway reopened around 2:30 a.m.
