STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man accused of stealing mail from apartments in Studio City and trying to stab one of the residents who tried to stop him has been arrested.

Sarkis Yaralyan, 42, was arrested Thursday after detectives served a search warrant at his North Hollywood home and found "evidence related to the crimes," according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Yaralyan was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $80,000 bail.

Earlier this week, a group of neighbors in the area of Valleyheart Drive and Longridge Avenue said they caught the man red-handed and pepper sprayed him before a fight ensued. The confrontation was caught on video.

After he was confronted, the suspect allegedly attempted to stab one of the residents, according to police.
