SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame and coach Marcus Freeman hope to get one final big commitment Saturday for the 2026 class.

Defensive lineman Elijah Golden out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Fla. will announce his commitment at 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

He has narrowed his long list of offers down to a final four of Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.

Golden is listed at six foot three and 278 pounds and is considered one of the top high school defensive tackles in the country. His last name seems like it’s perfect for Notre Dame, but we’ll see what he thinks.

The Irish are considered the leader in his recruitment, but it’s not a sure thing, Alabama has reportedly been pushing very hard for him.
