BOISE, Idaho — Idaho Governor Brad Little announced Thursday that he has authorized the activation of Idaho National Guard personnel to support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with administrative and clerical duties.

“As Commander in Chief, I am proud that the Idaho National Guard always stands ready to support our federal partners in any capacity that strengthens public safety and national security,” said Governor Little. “Our guardsmen are trained, disciplined, and committed to serving the people of Idaho and the nation.”

The decision follows a notification from U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to the National Guard Bureau, informing states that up to 1,700 guardsmen across 20 states may be activated to support ICE.
