HENDERSON CO., Tenn. (WSMV) - The U.S. Marshals Service is reporting that one of its task forces was involved in a shooting in Tennessee on Friday.

The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force was involved in a deadly shooting in the Reagan community of Henderson County at about 10:45 a.m.

The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Center Hill Wright Road as marshals were attempting to arrest a 44-year-old man wanted for failing to appear in court on multiple felony warrants.

The USMS reports that a member of the task force shot the suspect in response to a threat posed by the man.

The suspect died as a result of the shooting.
