HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Authorities are seeking animal cruelty charges against a Ludlow man.
Holyoke Police said Friday that they, along with the city’s animal control officer, began investigating a report of alleged animal abuse after a video began circulating on social media. It’s alleged that the incident took place around 10 a.m. on Friday, August 1 near 600 Main Street and that the suspect reportedly hit his German Shepherd with a leash.
Investigators spoke with the suspect, a 69-year-old Ludlow man, and a criminal complaint was filed on Thursday in Holyoke District Court against the suspect on animal cruelty charges. Police noted that the suspect’s name will be released if the complaint is issued and he is arraigned in court.
