Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson reportedly avoided a serious injury during Thursday's (August 7) preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN 's Stephen Holder on Friday (August 8).

Richardson suffered a dislocated pinkie after being sacked by linebacker David Ojabo in the first quarter of Thursday's loss. The third-year quarterback underwent X-rays at halftime, which were negative, and he could return to practice as soon as Saturday (August 9).

Daniel Jones took over at quarterback to conclude the first half while rookie Riley Leonard played through the second half. Richardson had previously dealt with a shoulder injury in June that ruled him out of minicamp.
