MILFORD, Conn. — A truck driver from Waterbury had nearly completed his long trip home from Virginia Wednesday when he made a life-changing pit stop at a Milford convenience store.

During his visit, the man purchased a Powerball ticket and won a $100,000 prize, according to a release from CT Lottery on Friday.

The business that sold him the winning ticket is Wheels Convenience Store on Old Gate Lane.

CT Lottery reports that the Waterbury man purchased the Powerball ticket like he often does before returning to the road. He later found out that he won the six-figure prize.

His ticket reportedly matched four of the five white balls and the red Powerball drawn on Aug. 6.
