ORANGE, Ohio -- Village Council is seeking candidates for its next charter review commission.

On Wednesday (Aug. 6), Law Director Stephen Byron reminded council that it has a duty to form a charter review commission (CRC) by the end of this year.

Byron noted that it states in the village charter that within eight years of the appointment of the most recent CRC, council shall by ordinance establish and appoint members of a new CRC.

The village’s last CRC served in 2018.

“So between now and the end of the year, you may want to enlist some candidates who want to serve on the commission,” Byron told council.

“In the past, you’ve had various methods of selecting the commission, and it’s up to you how you want to do that.”
