PIONEER, Calif. —
A large vegetation fire that sparked Friday afternoon in Amador County is forcing evacuations, officials said.
The Amador County Sheriff's Office at 1:35 p.m. triggered an evacuation order for residents near the 28000 block of Tiger Creek Road east of the Pioneer area. The fire was reported around 12:50 p.m.
When an evacuation order is issued, you are lawfully required to leave immediately because of the threat from a wildfire.
The roads included in the evacuation zone include Black Prince Road, Belden Mine Road, Tiger Creek Road, Stephanie Way and Suncatcher Lane.
There are also evacuation warnings for the area north of where orders were issued. Those areas include much of the Mace Meadows Golf Course and the Tiger Creek Reservoir.
