A bouncer at the Midway Saloon was charged Friday with the shooting death of a patron outside the University Avenue bar.

Davarius Lamonte Clark, 29, of Minneapolis, was charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder while committing a felony assault.

The complaint gives the following details about the crime:

About 12:20 a.m. Thursday, Metro Transit officers on the Snelling Avenue light rail platform near Midway Saloon heard a gunshot. They ran to the bar and found a 43-year-old man on the ground outside the bar with a gunshot wound to his chest. The man was taken to Regions Hospital and died in surgery at 3:42 a.m., the complaint said.
