LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Air Force has made an arrest in connection with the July 20 death of airman Brayden Lovan.
According to the Air Force Times , an unidentified airman was arrested Friday. He is accused of making a false official statement, obstruction of justice and involuntary manslaughter.
A spokesperson with the Air Force told the Air Force Times, “As with all individuals accused of a crime, the person arrested in this case is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
After Lovan’s death, the Air Force paused the use of the Sig Sauer M18 handgun. The M18, a version of Sig Sauer’s P320, has faced allegations it is prone to going off without having its trigger being pulled.
Lovan’s family had planned to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the gun maker,
