On Aug. 2 and 3 Mississagi Provincial Park hosted its 10th Annual Lumberjack Days.

Sarah Daigle, Mississagi Park operations manager , says this year’s Lumberjack Days was a tremendous success.

“We had over 2,000 people in attendance, with 154 kids participating in the children’s events,” says Daigle.

On Saturday, the events were all at the Campers Beach.

The children’s games included the axe throw with toy axes, colouring, a piggie race with mechanical piggies, a fishing pond, nail driving and more.

The Saturday adult events included canoe races, log burling and a dunk tank.

For two days Dave Kinnunen, a woodcarver from Massey, was displaying his talent to those who attended Lumberjack Days . Kinnunen says he began carving animals out of wood with a chainsaw seven years ago.
