In Gaza, the Israeli-made humanitarian crisis has reached catastrophic levels, with the United Nations (UN) confirming that at least 875 Palestinians have died in recent weeks while trying to access food. Many were killed at so-called “aid distribution” points that have become deadly ambush sites rather than safe zones for relief.
These sites are run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S.- and Israeli-backed entity widely criticized for undermining international humanitarian standards.
The U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has condemned the GHF as a “militarized humanitarian assistance mechanism,” not a legitimate relief operation. Rather than facilitating aid, the GHF and its affiliated distribution model have been accused of weaponizing food, a war crime
