ELK POINT, S.D. (KTIV) - A man from Northwest Iowa now faces charges of aggravated assault and burglary after an incident in South Dakota.

On Sunday, Aug. 3, 43-year-old James Jennings was arrested after police say he attempted to stab two people inside a home found on the eleventh block of Eagle Drive.

When an Elk Point police officer arrived at the scene, Jennings was reportedly found wielding a knife, trying to break into the house through a kitchen window.

Court documents show the kitchen window was not broken, but its screen was ripped out. Before attempting to get in through the kitchen window, Jennings reportedly tried to enter through the front door.

According to officers, neighbors say they heard Jennings screaming and threatening to stab the two residents of the house. Office
