Prince George's County's new executive has pledged to beautify the county by taking care of long-ignored nuisance complaints ranging from abandoned cars to overgrown trees.

Braveboy's office is calling the new initiative "Strike Force 311" — urging residents to call in their complaints to the county's 311 hotline.

Residents in one Hyattsville neighborhood said that for years they complained about a lot that had hundreds of tires piled up and tall weeds.

That lot was the first stop Braveboy made as she kicked off the new Strike Force program Thursday.
