ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- With more people than every diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, simple lifestyle changes can make a big difference for many older adults facing cognitive decline. With that in mind, The Rochester and Finger Lakes Region Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association is hosting a class on "Cognitive Cooking for Brain Health" in Elmira.

It's happening next week on Wednesday, August 13th at 11:30 p.m. on West 1st Street at the Jennie Fassett Cottage Kitchen. It will focus on how the mind diet, which prioritizes foods like leafy greens, berries, nuts, whole grains and olive oil, can benefit the mind and body for older adults already facing cognitive decline.
