NBA players Jaylen Wells and Mouhamed Gueye towered over Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke during a photo-op at city hall.

"Would you believe these NBA players are 6’8” and 6’11”?" the mayor tweeted Friday (Aug. 8).

"Mouhamed just wrapped up his second NBA season, and Jaylen was named to the 2025 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Congratulations to both!"

The Senagalese-born Gueye plays for Atlanta Hawks, while the American Wells wears a Memphis Grizzlies jersey in the NBA.

Both were in B.C. for a Ball Don’t Stop Pro-Am tournament in Victoria on Thursday, when they also visited the Swift Radio office in Newton for a morning meet-and-greet.
