NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A joint operation between the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in South Nashville is facing new scrutiny over concerns by some Democratic lawmakers that Hispanic drivers were disproportionately targeted during traffic stops conducted in May.
WSMV4 Investigates obtained partial Computer Aided Dispatch reports from the operation, which occurred overnight on May 3 and 4, 2025. The records detail only 105 of the 369 reported traffic stops. Many entries are heavily redacted or missing key information, such as the driver’s name, race, and the reason for the stop.
