U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego of Arizona visited the Iowa State Fair on Friday, Aug. 8, sparking questions about whether he intends to run for president in 2028.
Gallego said it's "too early" to talk about running for president in 2028 and said he's in Iowa to help Democrats win back seats in the 2026 midterms.
Conservative activists followed Gallego around the fair, criticizing him for past tweets disparaging caucuses and Iowa's first-in-the-nation status.
