While many tend to cast off the importance of preseason games, they are make-or-break opportunities for players to solidify their spots on the 53-man roster. Analysts Logan Paulsen, Santana Moss and Fred Smoot discussed what they want to see from those players on the Command Center Podcast.
"Who makes the big play? Who finds the explosive opportunity? That's why I like the preseason," Paulsen said.
As Washington alumni, Moss, Smoot and Paulsen have experienced their share of preseason games. Though these games may not seem as competitive, it's a time for coaches to evaluate key player attributes and see how they can apply their skills in moments of situational football.
