MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - Part of their summer backpack meal distribution Cultivate Food Rescue teamed up with Penn Harris Madison school and Amazon!
As P-H-M has done all summer, picnic lunches were given to local families at Mishawaka’s Central Park.
Cultivate gave away frozen meals for parents and children to take home for the weekend.
While the Amazon “Think Big Mobile Van” was onsite with some interactive stem activities!
“In the summer, it’s often hard to get food out to the kids. In the school year, it’s easier. You can take the food to the schools. They’re fed breakfast and lunch. But during the summer it’s hard, so we find creative ways to get the kids excited and get them to come out,” said Laura McNally the Communications and Education coordinator for Cultivate Food Rescue.
