Canada’s MLB contingent is growing by one.

The Tampa Bay Rays recalled 25-year-old outfielder Tristan Peters from triple-A Durham on Friday, calling on the Winkler, Man., native to take the spot of Jonny DeLuca, who went on the 10-day injured list.

Peters will join the Rays for a West Coast swing, as Tampa Bay embarks on a nine-game road trip that will take it through Seattle, Sacramento and San Francisco.

Drafted out of Southern Illinois University Carbondale in the seventh round by Milwaukee in 2021, Peters has starred at triple-A this season. The six-foot outfielder owns a .282/.370/.453 slash line, 11 home runs and 11 stolen bases through 105 games for the Bulls.
