BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Friday, officials with the Biloxi Fire Department are working to extinguish a blaze underneath the Popp’s Ferry Bridge.

According to Fire Chief Nick Geiser, the fire began after wires connected to a piling sparked. A power company was called to the scene to make repairs.

As of 4:52 p.m., traffic on the bridge remains open and flowing. Drivers should stay alert while in the area.
