ATLANTA — As part of the Clash Before Class charity boxing event Saturday, Georgia District 75 Rep. Eric Bell, D-Jonesboro, will compete against Jonesboro City Council member Alfred Dixon.

The Clash Before Class is scheduled Saturday, Aug. 9 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Tara Center, 7651 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro.

“This event is not just about boxing,” said Bell. “It is about stepping up for our kids and standing with our community. We are raising money, awareness and expectations. I am proud to be a part of a movement that puts children and families at the center.”

The event seeks to raise money and support for student scholarships, school supplies and services that help children grow and succeed.
