PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Providers and members gathered for a protest in Downtown Portland, reacting to OregonCare’s policy change. The insurance is reverting to its pre-pandemic policy which will not let members work with non-contracted behavioral health providers.

The announcement came last week, and according to CareOregon, it will impact 15,000 members. They say that is about 3% of their total membership, and 15% of their members who use behavioral health services.

Lien Hoa is a CareOregon member who said she has worked with her therapist for three years, but they are non-contracted. She said now, she does not know what she’ll do.
