The Colts have signed former Missouri running back Nate Noel to replace veteran Salvon Ahmed, multiple league sources confirmed to IndyStar on Monday.

Ahmed suffered a severe ankle injury last week after being taken down by a hip-drop tackle from undrafted free agent safety Trey Washington as he headed to the end zone. A return this season is highly unlikely, but a source said Ahmed will be healthy again in 2026.

Indianapolis had initially signed Ahmed last season as insurance when Jonathan Taylor suffered a high ankle sprain, and he’d been with the roster ever since.
