SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - On South Bend’s Western Avenue, the Indiana health centers held their annual ‘Back-to-School’ health fair Friday.

The event wrapped up just a couple hours ago.

It’s National Health Center Week that marks the importance of health centers in communities across the country.

Indiana health centers’ goal is for residents to know resources are available in a time of need.

“Really, we do this every year. It really aligns with our mission, and our mission again is to serve those that might be having hard time, might be suffering, might be having some unmet needs and just bring folks together and have some joy,” said Ann Ludy Ceo of the IHC event.

Vendors at the event gave students backpacks filled with supplies, as well as free haircuts.
