Watterson soccer was selected by Dispatch.com readers as the central Ohio girls team of the year in the 2024-25 school year.

The Eagles (20-2) captured their first state title , defeating North Royalton 2-1 (3-0 on penalty kicks). Goalie Suzie Roginski made two diving saves during penalty kicks after stopping five shots between regulation and overtime. Sasha Smith, Emma Miller and Megan Goehring converted penalty kicks for Watterson. Sophie Scott scored the Eagles’ goal in regulation.

Fairfield Union basketball earned the girls team of the year honor during the Central Ohio High School Sports Awards on June 18, but Watterson was the choice of Dispatch.com readers in a poll conducted Aug. 4-8.
