Lake Mary’s Little League Softball World Series trip ended in heartbreak on Friday evening.
In a hard-fought pitching duel in which both teams left the bases loaded to end an inning twice, Tulsa, Oklahoma got a walk-off home run from starting pitcher Harmoneigh White in the bottom of the sixth and final inning for a 3-1 victory.
It’s the second time Tulsa defeated Lake Mary as they won 2-1 over Florida’s representative in the tournament’s opening game a week ago.
Tulsa opened the sixth with a runner reaching base on an error before White’s blast to straightaway center field more than 200 feet from home plate.
White was also clutch in the circle for Tulsa. After giving up a run on two hits in the top of the first inning, she gave up only one hit the rest of the way.
