CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The highly-anticipated moment didn't take too long to happen inside Bank of America Stadium.

The Browns received the opening kickoff in the Aug. 8 preseason opener at the Carolina Panthers . After Kaden Davis returned the kick to the Cleveland 22, all eyes turned to the player in the white jersey with the brown "12" who ran out on the field five seconds into the game

Shedeur Sanders made his first appearance in an NFL game.

The fifth-round rookie and son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders ran out with Cleveland's first offensive group for the game , which isn't going to be its first offensive unit when the regular season kicks off Sept. 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Coach Kevin Stefanski had stated Aug. 6, prior to the Browns ' joint practice
