ATLANTA — Georgia leaders are reacting after an apparent active shooter situation was reported on Emory's Atlanta campus on Friday afternoon.

An 11Alive source said a law enforcement officer has been injured. NBC News reported that a DeKalb County law enforcement officer was hurt during the incident. The news outlet reported the officer was taken to Emory University Hospital. However, no details about the nature of the officer's injuries were released.

Reports began coming in around 5 p.m. It's unclear whether a suspect is in custody at this time.

The Atlanta Police Department said it's investigating the incident unfolding near the 1700 block of Clifton Road. There is a massive police presence in the area. Several other law enforcement agencies are responding.
