A Lake Havasu City resident with a passion for photography and the environment is using one of his favorite tools for capturing images — a drone — to scout out illegal littering sites on state land.

John Kopp, a former California resident who has lived in Havasu for about five years now, has been monitoring illegal trash dump sites in the desert for the last year. He uses his drone to pinpoint locations, getting latitude and longitude coordinates to help authorities find the sites. ×
