PHOENIX — Arizona’s legal battles with President Donald Trump’s administration are paying off, according to the state’s top prosecutor.

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said the 25 multistate lawsuits she has involved the state in have helped safeguard $1.5 billion in federal funding.

“My office will keep fighting in court to ensure our state’s taxpayers and communities are not left paying the price for unlawful actions of the Trump administration,” Mayes said in a Friday announcement.

Mayes said the state helped protect $1.04 billion in federal grants and loans by joining a lawsuit in January. The legal challenge opposed the Trump administration’s decision to pause funding, and the result safeguarded money for several key public sectors in Arizona:
