NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Twenty-one men and women have achieved a milestone by graduating from the academy to become Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies.
A graduation ceremony was held Friday at New Hope Baptist Church in North Little Rock, where the new deputies had their badges pinned by their loved ones.
Deputy Chief Charles Hendricks said the recruits endured four weeks of adversity consisting of fitness, shooting, and exams. Hendricks added that the margin of error is thin.
"If you set the bar high enough, people will rise to your level of expectation," Hendricks said.
Blood, sweat and tears were dedicated to the goal of serving Pulaski County.
"It's a complete honor to me, sir, and I don't take it lightly," said graduating deputy, Forrest Fain.
