SIOUX CITY -- A Sioux City man who was charged with following a 10-year-old girl to school and repeatedly driving by the building and taking pictures of her was sentenced to a month in jail.
Alexander Ramirez Lopez, 24, pleaded guilty Aug. 1 in Woodbury County District Court to a simple misdemeanor charge of harassment, which was amended from a felony charge of stalking as part of a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and given credit for 30 days already served. He was fined $855.
Ramirez Lopez was arrested in June 2024 after being accused of following the girl earlier in the spring. He was charged with driving up to the girl in a pickup truck in an alley as she was walking to Hunt Elementary School. As the girl kept walking, Ramirez Lopez drove beside her, asking her for
