A jury convicted a Vancouver woman Friday of vehicular homicide and hit-and-run charges in connection with a July 2024 crash that killed a man sitting on a median at a WinCo Foods store.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning the guilty verdicts against Luella F. Roberson. Trial began Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court. Roberson is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 3.

Deputy Prosecutor Nicole Meyer said after the verdict that she appreciated the jury’s time. Defense attorney Michele Michalek did not respond to requests for comment by press time.
