NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KALB) - Two local leaders, Natchez Mayor Patsy Hoover and Campti Mayor Katrina Evans, said they are frustrated with, what they call, a lack of help from Natchitoches Parish leadership.

Both said it is a constant struggle to get support for road repairs, drainage work and other community projects.

They claim Parish President John Salter is not providing the transparency or resources needed, and that problems have gotten worse since the parish switched from a police jury to a parish council under his leadership.

Mayor Hoover said small communities like Natchez face serious funding limitations.
