AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Highland Park Hornets haven’t been to the playoffs since Ty Stout got hired back in 2022, but, this year looks different: a lot of guys are returning and are ready to bring this program back to its prime.
Stout has a special connection to Highland Park. He once walked the halls and wore the Hornets’ jersey proudly under the Friday night lights.
“When the band strikes up and the kids run out of the tunnel and just all of it, it just brings back nostalgia from when when you played...when you were younger. There’s not another feeling than a Friday night in Texas,” Stout said.
Now, he’s inspiring his athletes to step up and be leaders in the same way.
“It’s a big responsibility, but I chose to take it on because I believe that I can,” said senior quarterback, J
