For the next few weekends, families can celebrate the summer with sunflowers in Olathe, Kansas. Advertisement

The KC Sunflower Festival, hosted by KC Wine Co., kicked off Friday at the KC Pumpkin Patch, located at 13875 S. Gardner Road.

The festival features, of course, a field of sunflowers and more than 20 photo opportunities, but there's plenty of other fun activities and attractions.

Families can enjoy games, slides, rock climbing and more.

Several food vendors will provide the snacks and festival food, and drinks include KC Wine Co. specialty wine slushes, beer and cider.

The festival is open for three weekends: Aug. 8-10, Aug. 15-17 and Aug. 22-24. It opens 4-8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
