(KRON) — A hurt owl was rescued from the center divider of Highway 1 near Rio Del Mar Boulevard in the Santa Cruz area Friday.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene and removed the injured bird from the highway. CHP officers took the owl to the Native Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz County for treatment.
