The Kelowna Falcons’ season ended with an 8-4 loss at the hands of the Wenatchee Applesox in West Coast Baseball action, Wednesday at Elk’s Stadium.
With light rain falling in the first inning, the Applesox jumped into the lead with a pair of runs off starter Jackson Mayo. It’s the third straight game the Applesox scored in their first at bats.
The Falcons cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning when Kamryn Link singled to score Matthew Bolinger who doubled one batter earlier. Link would come through again in the bottom of the third to tie the game with an RBI sacrifice fly to scare home Justin Tsukada after he singled earlier in the inning.
That momentum, however, was lost in the Sox next at bat when they scored three times to retake the lead, one they would never give up.
